Tech Data Corp. (TECD) has announced it is adding LabTech Software‘s remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform to its porfolio of services offered via its TDCloud business unit. The announcement seems to be aimed at Tech Data’s reseller partners, and offers them a path to entry into the managed services business.

Stacy Nethercoat, Tech Data’s vice president of product marketing, software and cloud services, said she believes Tech Data’s partnership with LabTech could help resellers build revenue.

“With the addition of LabTech Software in the [Tech Data] Solutions Store, resellers can now access new sources of revenue using the LabTech platform,” Nethercoat said in a prepared statement.

LabTech Software points out that its platform offers IT automation tools that can enable IT service providers to eliminate repetitive IT maintenance processes or tasks. LabTech said the partnership also could help partners boost their profits.

“The LabTech Cloud Services will enable customers with a unique full solution offering that will meet the demands for IT service providers, resulting in a more profitable business,” Jason Magee, vice president of worldwide channels & alliances at LabTech Software, said in a prepared statement.

Tech Data generated $26.8 billion in net sales for the fiscal year that ended January 31. In addition, Tech Data’s TDCloud and TDMobility initiatives eventually could converge, which would allow the company to offer MSPs and value-added resellers (VARs) end-to-end cloud and mobile services.
