UCaaS company GoTo, formerly known as LogMeIn, has appointed channel veteran Michael Day as its new vice president of partner sales.

GoTo also launched the new GoTo Partner Network, which Day will now lead in his new role. The enhanced program includes a greater global focus. Since the company’s rebrand in February, it has expanded business to Italy and the Philippines. It has further international plans later this year.

“When LogMeIn rebranded to GoTo, it was about more than a new name,” Day said. “We set out to make it easier for customers to use our products and to do business with us.”

This meant launching a simplified product portfolio with a single application and two flagship products. These include the all-new IT support product, GoTo Resolve and a new UCaaS GoTo Connect experience. This simplification was also meant to benefit the company’s growing partner ecosystem.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in March.

“In a crowded channel market, we are establishing ourselves with solutions tailor-made for SMBs and built for IT. It’s a global partner program that incentivizes partners to work with us by making it easier for them to grow and engage with their customers,” Day said.

He added that partners will see streamlined contracts and compensation levels to align the full global partner ecosystem. This starts with traditional agency partners. They will also see formalized tier levels with associated benefits relative to performance, streamlined selling motions through a focus on a complete solution set, and additional revenue opportunities with lucrative incentives.

20 Years of Channel Experience

GoTo’s current head of the partner program, Patrick McCue, will become vice president of partner sales for the LastPass partner program, which is spinning off as a standalone cloud security company.

Mike Kohlsdorf is president and CEO, GoTo.

“As we look towards the future of both GoTo and LastPass, it is clear that we need industry experts to lead partner programs at both businesses,” Kohlsdorf said. “I’m excited to welcome Michael Day to GoTo. With years of experience in the UCaaS and software space, Michael’s skill set positions him well to continue to grow effective partner programs for all GoTo products.”

Day brings nearly 20 years of channel and sales experience to GoTo. Most recently Day spent over five years at unified communications and collaboration (UCC) provider, RingCentral. Prior to RingCentral, Day was at SCRAM Systems where he worked for over 13 years.

“Having spent many years in the UCC space, I saw a tremendous opportunity to join the new GoTo. While an established player in the remote workspace, the recent rebrand to GoTo and simplified portfolio of collaboration and remote support tools brings incredible differentiation to a crowded market needing a refresh,” Day said. “I look forward to working with the team to explore new possibilities to grow our partner program globally and separate GoTo as the clear leader in the space.”
