Hiring remains widespread and frequent, even in the holiday season.

Avaya's Gaurav Passi
A new fellow is overseeing Avaya's cloud division.
Gaurav Passi, Avaya Cloud's president, is now responsible for cloud product development and R&D, operations, business development and product management. Passi, a previous Five9 employee, will report to Avaya CEO Jim Chirico.
The unified communications provider has been pouring resources into its cloud unit this year, as Avaya cloud technologist Steve Forcum told us last month.

TBI's Kit Carker and Robert Schlosser
TBI added two new channel managers to its roster.
Kit Carker (left) will support partners in Texas and Oklahoma, while Robert Schlosser (right) will serve partners in New York City and Long Island. Carker comes to TBI from Telstra – Americas, where he served as the central region channel director for indirect sales.
Schlosser gained sales experience working in prior positions with ITT, Sprint, C&W, Frontier and TWC

Vonage's Mario DeRiggi
Vonage added a new face to its channel leadership team.
Mario DeRiggi is the company's new senior vice president of national channel sales and operations. Deriggi drove UCaaS, cloud and managed-services sales among enterprise customers when he was at Broadview Networks (later acquired by Windstream).
The hire shifts Bob Crissman, senior vice president and channel chief, to focusing on the company’s transactional channel and leading the western United States, where he has “an extensive network" of new partners.

Telarus' Randi Robison and Josh Haselhorst
The master agent tapped Randi Robison (left) as its new senior partner-development manager for Utah and Idaho.
She will recruit new partners to the Sandy, Utah-based company and help existing partners “expand their data, voice, cloud and contact-center practices.”
Telarus also has a new advanced networking sales engineer who will help subagents with all things software-defined networking (SD-WAN). Phoenix-based Josh Haselhorst (right) offers services free to all Telarus sales partners to white-label under their brand. Haselhorst brings a strong background in providing channel partner support in WAN and UCaaS technologies to his position at Telarus.

PlanetOne
PlanetOne announced three high-level promotions as CEO Ted Schuman said the master agent will pour more money into its personnel in the upcoming year.
Jonathan Hartman (left) moved from vice president of sales to senior vice president of sales, and Bernadette Richardson (right) went from vice president of marketing to senior vice president of marketing. Also, Christi Clarke (center) is moving up from director of operations to vice president of operations.

Broadvoice's Brian Kelly
Broadvoice's new channel manager has history in telecommunications and VoIP.
Brian Kelly, formerly with Vonage, Cbeyond and Verizon, now serves partners in the Southeast region, including Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. The company has tasked him with supporting, recruitment and training partners. He helped lead Vonage's first agent channel.

Powernet's Chris Raponi
A 20-year veteran of the telecommunications industry is offering new leadership to Powernet's agents.
The Cincinnati-based provider of voice, data, Wi-Fi and SIP products and services named Chris Raponi senior director of strategic channels. Raponi comes to Powernet from IntelePeer, where he served as director of strategic alliances. Powernet said Raponi's past work with the world’s largest telecom service providers gave him the ability to scale brand awareness for various solutions.

RapidScale's Duncan MacDonald
Cox Business-owned RapidScale added Duncan MacDonald, formerly with Navisite, to its team as director of product development.
MacDonald is based in Oklahoma City, and is responsible for RapidScale’s new product development and life-cycle management. He spent the previous seven years at Navisite and has also worked for L3 Communications and Hertz.

Silver Peak's Allen Arguijo and Michael O'Brien
Silver Peak bolstered its resources on the personnel side.
Allen Arguijo (left), a former Dell channel leader, joined the SD-WAN vendor as vice president of sales for the North America channel. Michael O’Brien (right), the company's vice president of worldwide channel sales, joined in July.

Cyxtera's Tamara Prazak
Secure infrastructure company Cyxtera tapped Tamara Prazak to direct its channel strategy and marketing.
She'll take charge of the company's channel partnership strategy in addition to aforementioned marketing efforts. Prazak most recently worked for ViaWest (now known as Flexential) as director of channel strategy. Cyxtera cited Prazak's work building ViaWest's partner program "from inception to becoming a significant bookings engine." She is also on the board of directors for the Cloud Girls organization.
ADRF's Adam Byrd
Adam Byrd is Advanced RF Technologies' (ADRF) new sales manager in the central United States.
He has worked for more than 20 years in the wireless space, developing direct and indirect business strategies. His last employer was Canadian company Dali Wireless. ARDF provides in-building wireless connectivity that it says "all major U.S. carriers" use.
CloudJumper's Robin Brandl
A software veteran joined CloudJumper, the workspace-as-a-service provider.
Robin Brandl is CloudJumper's new vice president of strategic alliances, and he'll use his experience to help the company grow its Microsoft relationship. The two companies will combine Microsoft's Virtual Desktop platform with CloudJumper's Cloud Workspace Mangement Suite software.
Brandl of course will also support CloudJumper's other technology partners and its delivery partner base.

Vector Security's Brian Potts
Vector Security Networks hired Brian Potts as national channel sales manager.
He'll oversee Vector's objectives for sales profitability and partner recruitment. The company said Potts brings expertise in revenue growth and managing relationships with channel partners.

Opaq's Lynn Tinney
Network security cloud company Opaq appointed industry veteran Lynn Tinney to the position of senior vice president of channels.
She's responsible for growing revenue through the company’s 100 percent-channel sales model and developing and executing partner strategy. Tinney came to Opaq from CA Technologies, where was vice president of partners for North America. Prior to CA, she was vice president of Americas channels at Riverbed Technology. She opened new markets, segments and verticals during her tenure at Riverbed.

The carousel of personnel-related announcements hasn’t slowed at all as we hurtle toward the new year.
A steady stream of long-tenured employees have left their corporate alma maters for new pastures. They typically departure from one vendor to another — often joining a newer outfit. But of course, the master agents offer an attractive destination for migrating talent. Telarus and TBI announced multiple hires last month, and PlanetOne Communications made a trio of promotions.
We’re seeing that customers are expanding their teams on a regional bases in many cases, filling in the gaps on their map. Other companies are looking for staff with expertise in niches like SD-WAN and contact center.
