Lenovo, Synnex Launch ThinkServer Guarantee for VARs
Lenovo has an offer for VARs, solutions providers — and small businesses — that want to give the company’s new ThinkServers a try. It involves a 60-day money back guarantee when the servers are purchased through Synnex, The VAR Guy has learned.
Sammy Kinlaw, Lenovo’s director of distributor sales, says Lenovo’s server team continues to work with four key distributors: D&H, Ingram Micro, Tech Data and Synnex.
However, Lenovo hooked up with Synnex to introduce a special “60-day money back guarantee” on the ThinkServers — which run Windows Server or Novell SUSE Linux (here’s the original scoop, from The VAR Guy). The ThinkServers target small businesses with 500 or fewer employees.
Kinlaw says Lenovo launched the 60-day money back guarantee with Synnex because the distributor was committed to a “rapid speed to market.” Plus, “they really target smaller resellers,” says Kinlaw.
“This is a way for end-users to give our servers a try, and it’s a way for our business partner community to see the value-add in our servers without any potential penalty,” says Kinlaw. “It’s a 60-day guarantee from purchase. If the customer and the VAR like it, great. If the customer has an issue the partner can return [the server] penalty free.”
Hmmm. Perhaps it’s time for The VAR Guy to build a small business server farm in his basement … at least for the next 60 days ;-).

Nah, I’ll just stick w/ IBM…
Very good idea.
This should be available from all Lenovo Partners.
Yes IBM also have a new Small Business server with Virtualization included.
Samuel: Lenovo licensed IBM’s server technology in order to target the small business market. So when you sell, service, support Lenovo ThinkServers, you’re gaining the benefit of IBM Ramp;D as well…
