The BroadSoft (BSFT) unified communication and collaboration (UC&C) solutions portfolio is now compatible with Microsoft Office 365.

BroadSoft has announced an Office 365 integration that combines its cloud private branch exchange (PBX) with Microsoft’s productivity software.

So what does the new integration mean for BroadSoft customers?

BroadSoft said its customers now can leverage its cloud PBX and  UC-One capabilities from their Office 365 desktop applications.

In addition, BroadSoft noted its users can click-to-call any phone number in emails, documents, databases, address books and on web pages from within Office 365 applications.

“BroadSoft’s integration is a great example of how partners can build on the new Office 365 platform to better serve the unique needs of our mutual customers,” Steve Guggenheimer, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Developer eXperience & Evangelism (DX) group, said in a prepared statement. “BroadSoft’s innovative business communications solutions are empowering Office 365 customers to become even more productive, wherever they are.”

Recent data indicates BroadSoft continues to extend its reach in the UC&C segment as well.

BroadSoft reported total revenue of $69.1 million in the third quarter of this year, which represented a 26 percent year-over-year increase.

The company also pointed out it expects a strong finish in 2015.

“From a customer adoption perspective, we had our best ever hosted UC sell-through in the quarter and surpassed a milestone of 12 million active end-users. We look forward to continuing this momentum as we close out the year,” BroadSoft Chief Financial Officer Josh Tholen said in a prepared statement.
