Bring-your-own-device (BYOD) network access security vendor Bradford Networks cloud-based Network Sentry/Analytics version 1.5 now analyzes long-term network access data. The new features lets MSPs compare BYOD network traffic data across the industry and identify trends. What’s included in this new BYOD solution? We’ll reveal the scoop.

Network Sentry/Analytics version 1.5 gives IT administrators access to analytics around an organization’s BYOD strategy. These insights can be used to help plan long-term BYOD strategies, prepare and identify spikes in activity, and understand application and device network demands.

The analytics are gathered via the solution’s integration with the Bradford Networks Network Sentry SmartEdge Platform, the company said.

The integration creates a “BYOD ecosystem” that can connect security, mobility management, and wired/wireless infrastructure vendor solutions together with Bradford Networks’ Network Access Control (NAC) solution. Network Sentry/Analytics 1.5 can then leverage the gathered BYOD data to plan for capacity, profile user behavior and mitigate risk.

Bradford Networks CMO Tom Murphy told MSPmentor via email that this new solution provides MSPs with an “aggregate, broader perspective of BYOD network data across the industry.”

“This new solution provides MSPs with a unique level of analytics to offer their customers, providing them with an in-depth view of long-term network activity to identify and mitigate potential risks and build a long-term BYOD strategy,” he said.

He added that 50 customers are using the solution, and he expects this number to continue to rapidly increase.

As for the BYOD market overall, Murphy told MSPmentor that many MSPs and end users are struggling to understand BYOD trends.

Bradford Networks recently partnered with networking solutions company Brocade to offer an integrated BYOD solution. The solution leverages Bradford Networks’ Network Sentry’s secure network access control (NAC) across the Brocade’s wired and wireless HyperEdge Architecture
