Enterprise mobility management vendor AirWatch has acquired Motorola Solutions’ (MSI) Mobility Services Platform business, the company announced today. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

AirWatch said it plans to continue to evolve the Motorola Mobility Services Platform and existing customers will continue to receive support directly from Motorola Solutions. AirWatch also plans to incorporate some of the platform’s features into the AirWatch EMM platform.

Girish Rishi, senior vice president of enterprise solutions, Motorola Solutions, said, “AirWatch will provide size, scalability and significant investment in this space, which will benefit our [Mobility Services Platform] customers. Motorola Solutions and AirWatch will collaborate to ensure that the product support transition is seamless.”

“We are excited to welcome both the [Mobility Services Platform] associates and technology to the AirWatch family,” said AirWatch COO David Dabbiere in a prepared statement. “We highly value their shared focus on customer satisfaction and know they are trusted partners in the mobile space.”

Motorola Solutions was created after Motorola split in two in 2011, creating the Solutions company and Motorola Mobility, both public companies. Google (GOOG) acquired Motorola Mobility in 2012.

IT research firm Gartner put AirWatch in the top right quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant report for mobile device management (MDM) for 2013.
