Channel partner Bluewave Technology Group has deepened its East Coast footprint by buying Virginia-based technology advisor OnCall Telecom.

Columbia Capital-backed Bluewave has closed the acquisition of OnCall, a 14-year-old agency with a headquarters in Virginia Beach. The parties did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but the entire OnCall team will join Bluewave’s roster of employees. OnCall’s website lists four people, including two client success managers.

OnCall president and founder John Finguerra said the deal will strengthen his company’s operational resources.

“Our clients and team members mean the world to me, and I firmly believe that our partnership with Bluewave positions us for long-term success. I feel confident that we will thrive in the ever-changing landscape through their operational support, technical advisors and world-class operations,” Finguerra said.

Finguerra’s telecom roots hail back to Sprint and MCI. He served as a national account manager and managed large enterprise clients for MCI.

“We eagerly anticipate the integration of OnCall into our organization. With nearly 15 years of strategic advisory experience, OnCall brings valuable expertise to Bluewave and shares our unwavering dedication to customer-centric solutions,” Bluewave CEO Seth Penland said.

OnCall reached platinum status – more than $1 million in monthly billings – with technology services distributor Intelisys in 2021. OnCall focuses on medium-size businesses.

Columbia Capital in early 2022 announced a $75 million investment in Bluewave Technology Group. Parsippany, New Jersey-based Bluewave has used that money to purchase several technology advisors (agents) including Helm Partners and iSymplify.

As of February, Bluewave employed 140 people.

Bluewave has acquired three agencies this year — all of them in the eastern U.S. Bluewave in June announced the acquisition of New York-based Total Telecom Solutions. Penland said at the time that 17-year-old Total Telecom could wrap Bluewave’s services around its existing customer base.

OnCall has close ties to the Virginia Beach community, according to Bluewave’s announcement.

In addition, Bluewave has established a stronghold in Louisville, Kentucky, with the purchases of SinglePoint and Virtual Telecomm.
