SYNNEX CATALYST — Distribution giant Synnex on Tuesday said it’s rebranding its cloud/mobility business unit to “Stellr” and announced it has signed an agreement to bring Workplace by Facebook to partners.

Stellr is the new Synnex brand that’s based on the distributor’s ability to seamlessly implement emerging technologies to solve real business problems in an era of disruptive digital transformation. Stellr eliminates barriers between hardware and connectivity to develop comprehensive solutions that address the convergence of cloud, mobility and IoT, the company said.

“Stellr guides partners to what’s next before their customers even know what questions to ask,” said Rob Moyer, senior vice president, cloud services, mobility and IoT at Synnex. “Our vision for Stellr is to help our partners navigate, thrive and prosper in this era of digital transformation. We are building a modern marketplace that simply and easily aggregates and implements the best custom technology solutions to solve real business challenges.”

Along with the Stellr brand, partners will see a range of enhancements including a new interface for the Synnex cloud portal, which will be followed by an updated website with access to a new virtual learning center. Stellr will continue to invest in its partners through a series of new benefits, tools and resources to be launched over the next year.

Workplace by Facebook is a workplace collaboration tool. It’s designed to be a dedicated and secure space for companies to communicate and collaborate. It includes familiar Facebook features such as News Feed, groups, messages and events. And it uses machine learning to present relevant information to users at the right time.

“Adding Workplace is an important step in the evolution of our cloud, mobility and IoT business as well as our commitment to helping customers digitally transform their businesses,” said Moyer. “The immediate value organizations see in this product, coupled with the fact that it is built on intelligent tech, makes it a great option for customers seeking a mobile-first, app-based offering for workplace collaboration,” he said.

Workplace will be available beginning May 20 as part of the rebranded Stellr cloud community. With the agreement in place, Workplace becomes a cornerstone to Synnex’s cloud strategy.
