VMware Partner Exchange 2013, the virtualization company’s annual partner conference, kicks off Feb. 25 in Las Vegas. Thousands of VARs and IT consulting firms will attend. But cloud services providers (CSPs) will also push into the spotlight.
Indeed, VMware’s service provider licensing model has caught on with a range of companies that have public and private clouds. In fact, there are more than 8,500 vCloud Services Providers. Among the 10 CSPs worth watching at the conference:
1. AirVM: The provider of cloud-hosted servers launched its white-label reseller program at last year’s event. In July 2012, AirVM extended its partner program to peer service providers, telcos, distributors, MSPs, systems integrators and OEMs. Also, AirSembly, a cloud management software platform, also became available for on-premises use.
2. Alert Logic: The company specializes in security as a service for the cloud. For its fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2012, revenues rose 43 percent to $30.6 million. The company’s partner program includes hosting providers, referral specialists and resellers.
3. CIRRITY: The company’s roots date back to one of the largest and fastest-growing MSPs in the South East United States. Today, Cirrity is a channel-focused cloud provider. The company’s cloud partner program helps MSPs and ISVs to launch:
Enterrprise business applications in Tier 1 datacenters
Business continuity and disaster recovery services

10. Virtustream: The company provides cloud software to enterprises, governments and service providers. Virtustream’s xStream solution helps to ensure cloud SLAs (service level agreements) for applications like SAP, Oracle and Microsoft. xStream is avaialble as software for existing datacenters and as a managed service from Virtustream’s cloud.
11. Intronis: Consider this a bonus entry. We hear Neal Bradbury, co-founder and channel chief, will be on hand at the conference.
