Jamcracker, KPN Partner for Dutch Cloud Service Delivery

It’s yet another example of Dutch cloud growth as cloud services broker Jamcracker has announced a partnership with telecom provider KPN to deliver its platform in the Netherlands.

Jamcracker’s business model is pretty straightforward for those who’ve been keeping track of the cloud market. The company consolidates cloud services into its Jamcracker Services Delivery Network (JSDN), letting customers pick and choose the as-a-service solutions they want. JSDN also offers plenty of additional services layered on top of the SaaS it offers, such as identity management, performance reporting and enhanced security.

KPN has started offering its own cloud services to enterprise customers on top of the JSDN, rolling its legacy offerings and other third-party solutions into a marketplace and delivery method that’s especially aimed at supporting the large enterprise with value-added offerings, according to the press release.

Jamcracker CEO and chairman KB Chandrasekhar congratulated KPN on its decision to go with JSDN in a prepared statement:

“KPN has shown leadership and vision in its commitment to delivering this sophisticated aggregation platform for enterprises. The KPN platform is the first instance of an enterprise cloud brokerage operating on a global scale, making it easy for enterprises to assemble and collect services creating an internal marketplace of cloud and non-cloud applications that enterprises can leverage for operational efficiency and increased revenue.”

That’s all well and good. But what piques my interest most about this story is that it’s just further evidence that — just as Japan was the place to be in the first half of 2011 — the Netherlands may be the cloud hotspot to watch as we enter 2012. Keep an eye on TalkinCloud for more updates.
