Asigra partners now can leverage an integration between Asigra Cloud Backup and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to improve their cloud infrastructure offerings.

Fronde, a Wellington, New Zealand-based Asigra partner, this week unveiled an Asigra Cloud Backup-AWS integration that enables managed service providers (MSPs) to offer backup-as-a-service (BaaS) solutions.

The Fronde Cloud Backup solution protects customer data across cloud, mobile, physical and virtual environments, according to Asigra.

This solution enables enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to outsource their backup and disaster recovery (BDR) needs, Asigra said, reducing the costs that are typically associated with multi-platform, multi-device data protection.

“With AWS and Asigra, our clients use Fronde Cloud Backup to improve their IT operations efficiency, leaving them with additional resources to focus on innovation and revenue-generating activities,” Fronde CEO Ian Clarke said in a prepared statement.

Asigra also noted the Asigra Cloud Backup-AWS integration allows customers to choose the level of service, and regardless of whether the service is deployed for hybrid or public cloud backup, AWS provides them with a scalable, secure and affordable alternative to a locally managed infrastructure.

“Service providers that choose Amazon as their cloud storage platform gain access to a highly distributed, full-featured platform at a fraction of the cost of traditional infrastructure,” Asigra Executive Vice President Eran Farajun added.

Ultimately, the Asigra Cloud Backup-AWS integration could benefit both MSPs and their customers, Asigra said.

“The Asigra-AWS integration provides managed service providers and their customers with another alternative cloud backup and recovery solution that leverages the cloud for a cost-effective approach to data protection,” an Asigra spokesperson told Talkin’ Cloud
