Bocada Launches Prism Assessment Program

BocadaBocada, which specializes in data protection management, is launching a new assessment tool for its partners. The Bocada Prism Assessment Program gives channel partners tools to evaluate customers’ data protection environment and backup infrastructure. The result? A potential value-add that holds real value for the customer. Here are the details …

The Bocada Prism Assessment Program (BPAP) offers resellers guidelines and training to help customers look at their entire data backup environments and figure out exactly what they need to address their data backup needs. Capacity issues, automated data reporting and other areas ripe for tweaking can be identified, so customers purchase only what they need.

For the uninitiated, Bocada Prism is Bocada’s flagship product, providing Data Protection Service Management or DPSM. BPAP is being offered in part to make Prism more effective, according to the company.

BPAP comes in two flavors: Basic and Advanced. Basic provides a cursory glance of capacity, backup recoveries and infrastructure deficiencies. Health-check and job trends are also available. The Advanced version offers a comprehensive look into the infrastructure along with policy review that can help identify and mitigate backup failures or non-standard policies to help employ standardized ones. Advanced can also show performance levels and offer more effective solutions, such as figuring out if reduplication is needed.

Bocada sees the value in these assessment tools because not many organizations have the ability to get a granular look at how their data moves around the corporate environment. Bocada also believes resellers will be pleased with the program since it can help validate customer assumptions (which in turn help the partner become a trusted adviser) and lead to more sales, or service-level agreements, in the future.
