TVWelcome to another edition of the Distribution Watch, our weekly download of thing going on in disty land. This week we have news from Jenne Inc. and Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM), so settle in and let’s get to it.
Jenne: The value-added distributor of IP telephony, audio- and videoconferencing, unified communications, data networking and IT security products has been recognized as a recipient of the Avaya Learning Partner’s Recognition Program for Q1 2012. Jenne was presented with the “Highest Student Satisfaction” award for the U.S. region and has been recognized with a training award for two consecutive quarters.
The Avaya Learning “Highest Student Satisfaction Award” recognizes Jenne as having attained the highest level of satisfaction among students, according to a survey used to rate quality of content, instructor, lab equipment and other important considerations. Avaya rolled out the recognition program during Q4 last year and its awards are based on data from Knowledge Advisors’ Metrics that Matter tool and then compared with its GlobalWare Solutions reports of distributed courseware kits.
Jenne also announced it will be hosting two onsite single-day training sessions in Cleveland and Chicago to help resellers become certified on Panasonic’s innovative line of i-Pro IP-based video surveillance solutions.
The certification training, which is slated for June 12 in Cleveland and June 14 in Chicago, is being offered at no cost to dealers and installers. Each company must complete the IPCR application and receive an IPCR number from Panasonic prior to training, and each company must have a minimum of one sales person and one technician complete the training. Ingram Micro: Point of sale was the focus of Ingram Micro’s 2012 Solutions Partner Invitational this week in San Diego, Calif.
The event focused on the technologies, trends, business practices and market dynamics in the data capture and point-of-sale market space impacting the channel. According to the company, partners had the chance to participate in “valuable business-minded and solution-focused breakouts, panels and workshops led by their peers, Ingram Micro, industry influencers and leading technology manufacturers.”
“Technology has become a measurable enabler for businesses of all sizes and opened new opportunities for channel partners who know how these solutions are being used to build a better business model, establish a stronger corporate culture and enhance the customer experience,” said Brian Wiser, senior vice president, Specialty Division, Ingram Micro North America.
And that, as they say, is that. Join us again next week for another edition of Distribution Watch. Until then, stay focused.
