Cisco Partner Velocity: Marketing Surprises in Paris?

Nearly 200 channel partners are set to attend Cisco Partner Velocity (Nov. 10-12, Paris). Instead of pitching networking products, Cisco designed the agenda to assist channel partners with their marketing, branding, social media and video content strategies. In fact, attending partners will receive marketing campaign services worth up to (US)$5,000. Here’s the scoop.The event, championed by Cisco VP of Worldwide Channels Marketing Luanne Tierney, will include viral video marketing strategies. You may recall Cisco acquired the Flip video camera business in early 2009 — and promptly gave each Cisco Partner Summit 2009 attendee a Flip back in June. Fast forward to the present, and Tierney says Cisco partners are using the Flip to shoot quick videos for customer proposals and site surveys.
What else is on the Velocity agenda? Beyond the tips, tricks and skills, attendees can leverage a Cisco-funded marketing campaign that could include a website assessment, or a similar offer, according to a Cisco spokesman. The value of this offer is approximately (US)$5,000, the spokesman adds.
“We essentially want to be a trusted marketing advisor to our channel partners,” says Tierney.
