Meru Networks has launched the Wireless Interoperability and Network Solutions (WINS) partner program at Meru’s Customer Summit 2009, taking place today through Friday in San Jose, Calif. The program verifies interoperability of partners’ wireless solutions with Meru’s virtual cell wireless LAN infrastructure.

The program’s 32 charter members have had their mobile clients, medical telemetry, network security, unified communications, real-time location, network management and other products tested and verified either at Meru’s WINS Interoperability Lab in Sunnyvale or at the partners’ own labs.

“Our goal is to ensure that Meru’s customers do not encounter any surprises as they deploy or migrate their enterprise applications and devices to take advantage of Meru’s virtualized wireless LAN infrastructure,” said Sarosh Vesuna, Meru’s vice president of business development. “While we would expect almost any laptop to work with a WLAN from the outset, we know from experience that this cannot be assumed for application-specific mobile devices such as medical telemetry solutions, mobile printers, barcode scanners or VoIP handsets.”

In addition to interoperability testing, WINS program partners collaborate on marketing collateral (e.g., testing documentation and solution notes), publicity, sales and support training, and customer and channel partner identification.

Current members of the Meru WINS program include AeroScout, Agito Networks, AirMagnet, Amika Mobile, Ascom, Avaya, Avenda Systems, BlueWave Security, Bradford Networks, ConSentry Networks, Creative, DiVitas Networks, Draeger Medical, Ekahau, ForeScout Technologies, Impulse Point, Intelleflex, Intermec, MobileAccess, Motion Computing, Newbury Networks, PanTerra Networks, Polycom, ShoreTel, Socket Mobile, T-Mobile USA, TerraWave Solutions, Velociti, Vocera Communications, Wavelink, Welch Allyn and WildPackets.

Meru Voice & Video Unplugged partners are automatically included in the WINS partner program.
