Jeppesen, a unit of Boeing Flight Service that offers navigation information systems to businesses, announced a new reseller agreement with mobile device management vendor AirWatch, that provides Jeppesen with the ability to offer commercial, business and military aviation operators industry-leading mobile device management (MDM) and mobile content management (MCM) services.

Jeppesen customers will now receive AirWatch MDM services through a cloud-based data management system for secure and scalable enterprise-use related to Jeppesen aviation operator customer operations. According to the company, these MDM services will simplify management for certain mobile device functions. These functions include secure mobile access to corporate resources, configuration of device settings and application versions, and enforcement of security settings and compliance.

Another AirWatch feature, which can be appealing to customers, is its secure “content locker." This content locker provides secure access corporate resources on-the-go from Apple iOS and Android tablet devices, and secure document distribution and mobile access to corporate documents.

Jeppesen Distribution Manager Pro (JDM Pro) provides flight information, including worldwide navigation charts. To provide an end-to-end solution for control of EFB data and mobile device management, AirWatch MDM, MCM and JDM Pro developed an agreement, which allows customers to focus on other operational tasks. The company says that the solution ensures timely and accurate delivery of current navigational and operational information to pilots and other users.

This agreement follows an announcement by another AirWatch partner, Azaleos Corp., one of the fastest growing companies on the MSPmentor 100 list, that it has exceeded one million seats under management. For more information on Jeppesen, visit the company's website.
