McGibben looks relaxed during the IT Nation 2012 conference in Orlando, Fla. But he was also busy telling attendees and peers how his company intends to attract MSPs toward SaaS-based monitoring.
MCGIBBEN: Alan Parsons played a beach bbq I attended here in Santa Barbara. He was great and it brought back the ’80s! TALKIN’ CLOUD’s SPIN: Parsons also produced Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. He’s the ultimate Eye in the Sky.
MCGIBBEN: Rampart. The dark side of LAPD. TALKIN’ CLOUD’s SPIN: Woody Harrelson remains a favorite within the halls of Talkin’ Cloud, though we’ve yet to check out this flick.
MCGIBBEN: LogicMonitor of course. It’s a great team and we are resetting the tone in an industry that needs it. TALKIN’ CLOUD’s SPIN: Most MSPs got started with on-premises monitoring solutions. Curious to see how LogicMonitor positions their SaaS-based alternative.
MCGIBBEN: Bloomberg West. It’s current on mainstream tech news, easy to have on in the background, and has a solid guest list of big thinkers. I am still waiting for an invitation. TALKIN’ CLOUD’s SPIN: Still waiting for our invitation, too. Though our team has been on CNBC and the now defunct CNNfn…
MCGIBBEN: LogicMonitor’s big idea is the transformation of IT infrastructure monitoring into SaaS. It’s big — and here to stay. TALKIN’ CLOUD’s SPIN: Hard to argue with the combination of SaaS and monitoring. But the proof will be in the execution. Keep us posted.
MCGIBBEN: iPad (finally) – no more paper meeting notes. TALKIN’ CLOUD’s SPIN: I’m still on iPad 1.0. But maybe there’s a holiday upgrade on the way for yours truly…
MCGIBBEN: theScore for iPad – who needs the sports sheet anymore!? TALKIN’ CLOUD’s SPIN: I’m a Mets, Jets and NY Islander fan. The thought of instant score updates is… um… a little depressing on most days.
MCGIBBEN: Confluence (by Atlassian) is our internal wiki where we aggregate relevant business and company information. I’m in there all the time. TALKIN’ CLOUD’s SPIN: Be sure to aggregate in Talkin’ Cloud’s RSS feed. And come on back and visit us often.
