Happy Independence Day, Distribution Watchers! We hope you have an awesome weekend of celebrating our great country and watching fireworks to look forward to as you close out the work week. But before you go, make sure to check out the latest news from our friends at Ingram Micro (IM) and Arrow Electronics (ARW).

Ingram Micro: Ingram Micro's Promark Technology division has been named the 2014-2015 Distributor of the Year by Nutanix, an enterprise virtualization and storage company. Promark was presented with the award for its success as one of Nutanix’s largest distribution partners, according to the announcement.

The award was presented during Nutanix’s annual .NOW Partner Summit in Miami last month. The company honored Promark for its success in recruiting national partners, developing successful sales enablement programs and remaining committed to expanding the Nutanix web-scale business. The two companies have worked together since 2013.

"Nutanix is a tech innovator and we are proud to bring the company's growing portfolio of virtualization and storage solutions to our channel partners," said Dale Foster, executive director and general manager at Promark, in a statement. "Our success with Nutanix is a direct result of our collaborative working relationship and relentless focus on new markets and emerging technologies, as well as partner engagement and business enablement."

Arrow: Arrow Electronics is now participating in the Microsoft Surface Hub commercial sales channel, with orders being accepted as of July 1 for the new group collaboration device. The distributor has pledged to provide design, installation and configurations support to help Microsoft's customers utilize their Surface Hub deployments, according to the announcement.

The Microsoft Surface Hub commercial sales channel is composed of a two-tier distribution model, and provides partners with training and other educational resources to help support their Surface Hub resale and deployment efforts, according to Arrow.

“Microsoft is pleased to work with channel partners like Arrow Electronics to deliver a wider range of Surface Hub solutions,” said Hayete Gallot, senior director of Microsoft Surface Hub. “Combining Arrow’s reach and industry expertise in hardware, software and solutions with the powerful collaboration and productivity features of Surface Hub will enable Microsoft to better serve its customers.”

That's it for this week, folks, so get out there and enjoy a hot dog and a cold beer with family and friends. We'll see you back here next week. Until then, keep on distributing.
