TruMethods is rolling out MyITProcess, a business intelligence system for MSPs that work with the consulting company and industry educator. The solution is designed to provide automated best practices and benchmarking — thereby keeping MSP businesses and their customers in alignment. CEO Gary Pica made the announcement at his Schnizzfest conference in Philadelphia today. Here are the details.

First, some background. Pica unveiled the alpha version of MyITProcess at last year’s Schnizzfest. The technology has gone through the beta process over the last year and currently has 35 MSPs on board.

The company has hired Rob Danser (pictured) as a dedicated product specialist. He’ll provide support and training to guide MSPs through implementing and using the system. (Danser was hobnobbing with MSPs when we ran into him on Friday morning at Schnizzfest.)

Today TruMethods is looking for 25 more MSPs to onboard to the program.

So what is it exactly? Pica says the system “is there to help you implement best practices. You review your client in a technical way against those best practices and then do a business analysis against those best practices.” That’s the short description, and the goal is both technical alignment and business alignment.

Much of this measurement is offered via templates that are built into a tool most people already use –- Microsoft Excel.

But here’s the important part -– the reports generated by the system enables MSPs to show customers their cost of being out of alignment with these best practices.  In this way the system is not just a best practices tool, it is also a sales tool.

Every end-customer company is provided with a score so that MSPs can see who is more in alignment and who is more out of alignment.

The end goal, said Pica, is to help MSPs reach their potential as world class MSPs and also make long-term success a priority.

The first limited release of the offering, available to 25 MSPs to start, will be available in July to TruMethods members only, and pricing is based on the number of customers managed. It starts at $30 per client per month, and there is no implementation fee. An early adopter discount is available.
