XO Communications today at VON announced it has expanded its wholesale VoIP offerings with a new IP voice origination service that gives providers a scalable way to originate voice calls nationwide.
The new service, XO VoIP Origination, interconnects, transports and originates local calls nationwide through one IP connection on XOs IP network. It can assign local telephone numbers from any XO market nationwide and accept local calls through one IP connection point, which means providers dont have to buy voice gateways in markets where they offer service, XO said.
With XO VoIP Origination, incoming calls originate in either IP or TDM format and are routed across the XO OC-192 network at the highest level of priority, the company said. Calls then are routed to the service providers network through an IP or TDM connection.
The services features include local number portability, directory listing, caller ID with name, and interconnection and usage reporting.
