Verizon Rolls Out Mobile Communications Service for Small Businesses

Verizon One Talk capabilities include HD audio, video calling, Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) and messaging.

Verizon on Thursday unveiled its new One Talk mobile-first service that allows small businesses to interact with their customers anytime and from anywhere.

00804559bbfd498dae1783814cfdcf73.jpgWith One Talk, every landline or mobile device, regardless of the wireless provider, share the same Verizon number and are connected directly to Verizon’s 4G LTE network. It comes with a suite of built-in, customizable features on a wide selection of mobile (both Android and iOS) and fixed devices.

“We designed One Talk to meet the needs of the 39 million employees working in small business across the United States, an underserved and overburdened market,” said Mike Lanman, Verizon’s senior vice president of Internet of Things (IoT) and enterprise products. “Whether they’re a startup or beginning to scale, with One Talk, small businesses can now interact with customers on their mobile devices with the same robust functionality of their office phones virtually anywhere and anytime.”

Employees can use their own personal device, no matter the wireless provider, and add the One Talk business number to that device in addition to their own personal number, Verizon said. To help businesses cut the cord and reduce costs, One Talk is designed to operate without the use of desk phones, it said.

If needed, One Talk does support a variety of office phones, lobby phones and conference-room phones, allowing customers to reduce costs by buying only the phones they need, the telco said.

One Talk capabilities include HD audio, video calling, voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) and messaging. Business productivity features include auto receptionists, customer service, hunt groups and executive-assistant line sharing.
