Trend Micro, Westcon Group Partner to Offer Security

Trend Micro Inc., a network antivirus and content security software and services company, and networking technology distributor Westcon Group Inc. on Tuesday announced a distribution agreement in which its Comstor and Westcon divisions will have access to the entire Trend Micro product line for customers in the United States.

The agreement with Trend Micro significantly scales the distributor’s security product and services offering, addressing resellers’ demand for security, the companies said. Both Trend Micro and Westcon Group will focus outreach efforts on SMBs and enterprises through ASPs, integrators and resellers.

“Trend Micro’s products add a highly strategic dimension to our security portfolio,” said Anthony Daley, executive vice president and general manager of the Americas at Westcon Group. “Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy is a perfect complement to Comstor’s Cisco-centric OneDefense program, considerably bolstering our best-in-class security solutions.

Trend Micro said it intends to capitalize on Westcon Group’s security-focused solution programs at each division, OneDefense and SecurityPoint, which provide selling tools, lead management capabilities and knowledge resources for the VAR community specializing in security. Trend Micro also gains access to Westcon Group’s logistics and pre-sales support capabilities.
