Poly’s Carl Wiese

Wiese comes to Poly after serving as the president of global sales and service for BlackBerry, where he was hired to transform the company from a device business to a cybersecurity outfit. While at BlackBerry, Wiese was responsible for leading the company’s enterprise software business.

He brings more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, services and product management for enterprise technology leaders.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in December.

Wiese tells Channel Partners that as part of his initial 30-day plan, he’ll be taking a “hands-on” approach that is organized around “Poly’s high-touch, channel-integrated sales philosophy and will get to know our global partners and teams on a personal level.”

“I’m dedicated to maintaining Poly’s commitments to providing premium service and solutions, and serving as a trusted advocate for our partners and customers,” he said. “I’ve actually been supporting the sales team since December as an advisor to the global sales acceleration office, which has allowed me to immediately step into my role to lead, develop and drive Poly’s world-class sales team.”

Wiese said during the next several weeks he will be personally working with channel partners and teams to drive Poly’s current strategy ahead and “build industry-recognized programs that represent, recognize and celebrate Poly’s partners of all sizes.”

“Poly’s channel partners have a lot to be excited about this year,” he said.

Prior to his role at BlackBerry, Wiese also held executive positions at Apple, Avaya, Cisco, Lucent Technologies and Texas Instruments.

He will report to Joe Burton, Poly’s CEO, and will serve on the company’s senior leadership team.

“Carl is an accomplished leader with experience driving sales and disruption,” Burton said. “Carl’s industry knowledge combined with Poly’s product leadership are a winning combination.”

Wiese is the co-author of “The Collaboration Imperative: Executive Strategies for Unlocking Your Organization’s True Potential” and serves as a board adviser to multiple organizations.
