CDW Helps Businesses Simplify Networks

CDW Corp. said Monday it has provided design assistance to implement simplified, converged audio, video and data network platforms for Summer Bay Resorts, Pentax Medical Co. and The Riverside Co.
CDW works with telecommunications partners such as Global Crossing to meet customers business and technology requirements. Global Crossings portfolio of IP services includes VoIP, IP VPN, remote VPN access, Internet access and IP video.
Summer Bay Resorts is a vacation ownership company with timeshare developments in Tennessee, Florida, Nevada and Missouri, and operates more than 500 operator seats at call centers Florida and Missouri.
The company used CDW and Global Crossing to help set up a SIP-enabled VoIP platform that supported the companys Asterisk open-source VoIP infrastructure.
Pentax Medical Co. has 10 locations across the United States, including sales and distribution centers. It wanted a single provider that could serve all locations with Pentaxs voice, data and Internet services, and to simplify management through consolidated billing services.
CDW and Pentax planned to upgrade the firms aging frame-relay system to a new MPLS WAN. Pentax selected Global Crossing as its new service provider, and CDW facilitated additional details such as Web-based and audio collaboration services, calling cards and conference bridges.
The Riverside Co. is a global private equity firm with headquarters in New York. CDW has provided core technologies to Riverside for several years and CDW and Global Crossing finalized their agreement with Riverside in August 2006.
They have completed installations at 19 of Riversides 48 portfolio companies.
