Cablevision Offers Optimum Business Toll-Free

Cablevision Systems Corp. (CVC) announced it is now offering small and medium business customers in the New York Metro Area the option to purchase a toll-free number with its Optimum Voice digital phone service.

Optimum Voice can provide a new toll-free number or port a customer’s existing number. Vanity numbers can be ported in addition to area codes 800, 888, 877 and 866.

Customers can manage their toll-free number through the Optimum Voice Web portal. Features include the ability to change the toll-free point to number to any Optimum Voice number on their account and access to call detail records that capture information like calling party number, location, date and time. This information can be used to evaluate the company’s marketing campaigns and effectiveness in generating sales and is kept online for three months and is downloadable, which enables the customer to build a powerful marketing database for future efforts.

The toll-free service is $9.95 for every bucket of 250 minutes per monthly billing cycle, representing up to 30 percent savings over the phone company for most customers, the company said in a press statement. The calling areas are the same as Optimum Voice, including the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada. As part of the toll-free service, Optimum Business offers an optional listing in the 411 directory assistance and the local printed white page directory for an additional monthly charge.
