Mitel, the provider of cloud and premises-based unified communications software solutions, has expanded its sales management roster by naming Steve Kelly to lead a new global sales team dedicated to Mitel’s cloud offerings, including the Powered by Mitel wholesale offering for service providers.
In his new position as Mitel director of sales, Kelly will direct the new global MiCloud sales team, which is charged with the responsibility of driving MiCloud sales worldwide.
Kelly joined Mitel from BT where he was vice president of international sales for wholesale services. He has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with expertise in wholesale, enterprise and mobile solutions.
“We continue to see strong growth and significant demand for cloud-based solutions with more than 300,000 public and private cloud users on the Mitel solution to date, up 71 percent over last year,” said Jon Brinton, general manager of Mitel’s cloud business. “To take full advantage of this opportunity, we’ve built a dedicated and global MiCloud sales team under the strategic direction of Steve Kelly to further fuel and accelerate growth in this area.”
“Mitel has an extremely strong value proposition that offers a simple but sophisticated path to the cloud,” said Kelly. “Our single software stream is ideal for service providers looking to enter the cloud services market, and for organizations simply looking to leverage the benefits of cloud communications for their business operations. I’m excited to be able to share that story with partners and customers globally.”
