TPx has combined its MSx managed firewall service with Fortinet’s integrated SD-WAN.

To deliver the integrated solution, TPx is using Fortinet’s Secure SD-WAN. It combines a next-generation firewall with SD-WAN, VPN, routing and reporting in a single solution. The companies say this offer makes enterprise-grade networking and cybersecurity services accessible to all.

Erik Nordquist is senior product manager of MSx Managed Services for TPx.

“Adding Fortinet integrated SD-WAN into our MSx managed firewall offering adds another tool in the sales toolbox for our partners,” he said. “Pure-play SD-WAN solutions only go so far and cannot provide the protection today’s businesses require. Customers are increasingly looking for integrated networking and security solutions to help meet their challenges.”

Here’s our most recent list of new products and services that agents, VARs, MSPs and other partners offer.

Partners can be more competitive, especially with larger multisite deployments such as retail where deploying multiple solutions doesn’t make sense, Nordquist said.

“It also makes the conversation easier for our partners because they can address all their customers’ needs at the same time instead of having to stagger conversations due to budget constraints,” he said.

Secure SD-WAN

Secure SD-WAN allows organizations to leverage multiple transport services to connect users to applications and devices. It also layers on a full suite of unified threat management (UTM) capabilities to keep businesses safe from cyberthreats.

Security professionals based in TPx’s two geographically diverse security operations centers (SOCs) configure, deploy, manage and monitor the network to:

  • Reduce exposure to cyberattacks and malware.

  • Allow productivity with secure communications and connectivity.

  • Monitor and manage networks in real time.

  • Meet compliance challenges.

  • Limit downtime and outages due to network issues or cyberattacks.

Part of the MSx managed firewall service with Fortinet includes support for remote work, Nordquist said.

“We can integrate with customers’ active directory to facilitate remote workers’ access to core business applications in a frictionless experience,” he said. “We also can add on two-factor authentication to add yet another level of protection. Along with remote access, TPx can provide detailed reporting on when the users are using the VPN and what they are using it for. Many businesses need to supply their auditors with this type of reporting. Again, our partners benefit from this because there is no need to try and sell separate firewall, SD-WAN and VPN services to a customer and will make them more competitive and solve more problems for their customer.”
