Information security and compliance company Qualys Tuesday rolled out its new cybersecurity platform for consultants and MSPs.

Qualys Consulting Edition delivers consultants, consulting firms and MSPs the ability to perform multiple ongoing vulnerability assessment engagements from a single, centralized and self-updating platform that allows them to consolidate their technology stack, including on-premises environments, endpoints and clouds, reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

Anthony Mogannam, Qualys’ product manager for SME/SMB solutions, tells Channel Partners the new platform allows MSPs to add more security services to their portfolio and manage client records with ease.

“As the first multitenant security solution of its type for consultants and MSPs, Qualys Consulting Edition allows MSPs for the first time to manage multiple clients on an ongoing basis, simultaneously, within one centralized platform — this is an aspect of cloud security that has not been seen before (among) any of our direct competitors,” he said. “Our goal with this product is to allow many of the organizational tasks associated with an MSP’s day-to-day (operations) to be automated within the Qualys Cloud Platform. These functions can be completed using the platform user interface, or through the Qualys API, which is included with each subscription.”

Also, this is “just the beginning” for the new platform, Mogannam said.

“We have a lot more planned on the road map that will continue to disrupt the status quo,” he said. “For MSPs, Qualys Consultant Edition gives them the opportunity to enable quicker adoption of security services within their portfolio, at a attractive cost.”

Qualys Consulting Edition helps MSPs target SMB and SME customers by leveraging multitenancy and trending data, said Karun Malik, Qualys’ vice president of strategic alliances and channel development.

“Qualys, being a cloud-based platform, is instantly deployable, which reduces the time required to enable security assessments,” he said. “MSPs can now target highly regulated verticals like health care, banking, financial services and insurance by leveraging cloud apps within the platform such as Qualys Policy Compliance, which can address requirements for General Data Protection Regulation (GPDR), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance, to name a few.”

Qualys Consulting Edition will be available for consultants, consulting organizations and MSPs by the end of this month.

“We moved our managed vulnerability solution from Tenable to Qualys in order to address the pain of its lack of distributed architecture, multitenancy and scale,” said Paul Caiazzo, CEO and co-founder of TruShield Security Solutions. “With the power and the many integrated apps of the Qualys platform, we are now in a great position to expand our managed security services.”
