IT Infrastructure and cloud provider Peak 10 has achieved the Cisco Powered Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) designation under the Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification, the first provider in North America to do so, according to the company.

“We continue to see strong demand for DRaaS, or cloud DR services, to help businesses lower their risk to support their business continuity plans,” said Jeff Spalding, COO at Peak 10, in a prepared statement. “As part of this designation, our infrastructure and operational processes went through a rigorous third-party audit. With our historical commitment to compliance, Peak 10 has been a leader in DRaaS for a while now and because we take the integrity of our infrastructure and operations so seriously, this Cisco certification is really formal recognition for our longstanding approach to business.”

The Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification is part of the Cisco Systems' (CSCO) Cloud and Managed Services program, which focuses on helping partner companies to blueprint, build, market and sell cloud and managed services with the aid of Cisco’s Cloud Marketplace and its various tools and services. Peak 10’s certification enables the company to provide Cisco Powered services built on the IT infrastructure library framework and provide basic management capabilities that support Cisco technologies, according to the press release.

Peak 10 is well known for its Recovery Cloud, the company’s DRaaS solution for recovery of compromised applications and data. The solution allows customers to access the cloud resources necessary to help get their data centers running after a site failure, whether the original data is stored in the cloud or on-premise.

Previously, the company was one of the first data center and cloud providers to achieve the Cisco Cloud Provider Certification with a Cisco Powered Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) designation in 2012. The company was recently named as Americas Cloud and Service Provider Partner Organization “Data Center Cloud Partner of the Year” during the Cisco Partner Summit in March.
