Panda Adds to UK Channel Team as it Goes Deeper in the Cloud

Panda Security is adding to the ranks of its channel team in Britain with the appointment of Paul Chesterfield as channel account manager.

In his position, he will act as the face of Panda Security, building relations between Panda and its partners in the region. According to the release announcing his position, Chesterfield’s hire was part of an expansion plan to continue Panda’s growth within the channel to “achieve ambitious channel targets.”

Chesterfield has rejoined Panda after a stint at Trend Micro, where he was DMR channel account manager. Before Trend Micro he worked at Panda Security for almost five years, according to the company.

Tony Lee, Panda’s managing director for the United Kingdom and Ireland noted in the press release:

“We’re pleased to welcome Paul once again to Panda Security, to help continue to build our channel presence in both the business and enterprise space. Paul has an impressive track record in the security industry and will be a great addition to our UK team. Sales of our Cloud range have grown significantly in the first half of 2011 and we have ambitious plans for growth. With the addition of Paul I’m confident that we have the right team in place to enable us to fulfil (sic) these aims.”

Chesterfield’s appointment comes as Panda is making serious moves in the cloud space, including a recent update to its Cloud Office Protection offering and the release of its Virtual GateDefender Performa cloud-based virtualized perimeter protection solution. Engaging the channel more fully with its cloud strategy is key for the company moving forward, and bolstering its channel management in key regions such as the United Kingdom can only help the security provider.
