Network security provider Netsurion continued the shake-up of its leadership team with the announcement of two new hires Tuesday.
Mark Cornwell joined the company as its chief information officer and Rene Gonzalez is the new chief financial officer. Both started with Netsurion earlier this year.
Cornwell, the former chief technology officer at Swiss Watch International, said he joined Netsurion because of its appeal to businesses with multiple locations.
“These smaller companies, which often lack internal IT resources, now have the ability to access and benefit from enterprise-strength security,” he said. “My engineers and I will ensure Netsurion is as productive and protected.”
Gonzalez most recently served as vice president of finance and operations at digital shopping company Joinem. He also was the CFO of Woot, an Amazon subsidiary.{ad}
Gonzalez said a reason for his switch was the desire to move to the more relationship-driven world of brick-and-mortar businesses “after years in the e-commerce industry.”
“These business owners aren’t just sitting behind a computer screen. They’re interacting with their customers face to face on a daily basis, so securing their information and maintaining their trust is imperative for success,” he said.
Netsurion CEO Kevin Watson said his company is accelerating its growth to meet the increasing brought on by cybercriminals.
“Being a leader in security is important to every brand…but you don’t need the budget and staff of a major corporation to keep the hackers at bay,” he said. “Netsurion’s managed services integrate enterprise-grade equipment and … security architecture to provide … security, PCI and HIPAA compliance, and manageability for our clients’ networks and POS systems.”
Netsurion hired Mark Cline as its new channel chief in January. The company has said that channel demand for its services is growing.
Netsurion also announced that it is moving its headquarters from Houston to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
