Morphisec has added an executive to head up its North American channel program.

Morphisec’s Paul Laracy

Paul Laracy now serves as senior director of U.S. channel sales for the endpoint security provider. He has worked in IT and telecommunications since 1980 and served in numerous channel roles.

“Paul is a master builder of channel strategies. He has both technical experience and an acute understanding of what the needs of the channel and its customers are,” said Arthur Braunstein, Morphisec’s vice president of  U.S. sales.

Laracy spent the last two years as senior manager of channel sales for Lieberman Software. He managed sales for Blue Coat Systems’ global consulting and professional services unit from 2011 to 2015. He has served in a variety of roles – mainly channel sales but also engineering – at companies like Converged Access, Top Layer Networks and Covelight Systems. He says he looks forward to helping protect enterprises from cyber threats. Morphisec provides a “Moving Target Defense” technology that deploys a memory-defense layer into existing security infrastructure.

“A lot is happening in the endpoint security space but little that is truly unique. Look at the attacks companies face; 60 percent can be addressed by traditional and next gen AV, but what about the rest?” Laracy said. “There is a real need, which creates the opportunity for us and our partners. The detect-and-respond model used by other solutions is confusing, costly to operate and in the end, simply not sufficient. Morphisec, with its true prevention, solves a problem no one else is solving. It complements solutions already in their portfolio, letting them build the best endpoint stack for their customers.”

Braunstein said Laracy will help combine the advisory nature of the channel with Morphisec’s technology to help customers.

“There is a lot of confusion in the endpoint security space. Customers’ trusted advisers understand this and are in a strong position to help them navigate the hype of me-too products and incorporate unique and high-value solutions like Morphisec,” Braunstein said.

Laracy will work in Morphisec’s Boston office. The company’s corporate headquarters are in Beer-Sheva, Israel.

VIPRE unveiled a study about how SMBs choose endpoint security solutions earlier this year. An older article by Countertack’s Tom Bain summarizes three things to consider when selling endpoint security.
