Richard Steranka, Vice President of Global Channel Operations for Intel Security.
Steranka: I was an Avionics Engineer at Boeing .
The VAR Guy says: That's some heck of a first job – at least you never had to deliver newspapers door-to-door, or work in a fast food restaurant!
Steranka: A 1984 Porsche 962 .
The VAR Guy says: Ah, so you like the really fast cars, eh? This model of Porsche would probably make a regular sports car seem slow by comparison!
Steranka: Southwest Utah visiting Zion, Bryce Canyon and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
The VAR Guy says: That sounds like a wonderful trip. The Grand Canyon is truly a spectacular place to visit.
Steranka: "B4B: How Technology and Big Data Are Reinventing the Customer-Supplier Relationship" by J.B. Wood Todd Hewlin and Thomas Lah.
The VAR Guy says: "B4B" covers the basics concepts surrounding the gradual shift of industry towards a software-driven business model, and how this is upending the traditional manufacturing business.
Steranka: A new camera – an Olympus OMD E-M1 and a lot of lenses!
The VAR Guy says: You can never have enough lenses for your camera!
Steranka: "Mr. Robot" on USA Network.
The VAR Guy says: We've just started watching this show, and its terrific. Rami Maleck and Christian Slater are a dynamo team.
Steranka: I wanted to be an Astronaut then a Pilot after I realized being an astronaut was pretty low probability.
The VAR Guy says: With commercial spaceflight finally beginning to take off (no pun intended) we might all have the opportunity to be astronauts soon enough!
Steranka: "Gladiator" – great director, actors, story and cinematography.
The VAR Guy says: Director Ridley Scott has done a lot of fine work in his career, but "Gladiator" takes the cake in terms of set design, acting, screenwriting, and overall action, thanks to Russell Crowe.
