IronNet Cybersecurity, the provider of network traffic analysis, has appointed Garrett Jones, previously with Forcepoint and Symantec, as its new vice president of global channels.

In his new role, Jones will be responsible for developing IronNet’s partner strategy, including channel and technology partnerships. He brings 15 years of cybersecurity sales and channel experience to the company.

“Our rapid growth has resulted in the need to pursue partners who will play a key role in the delivery of IronNet solutions and services,” said Bill Welch, IronNet’s co-CEO. “Garrett is joining IronNet during an exciting time as we see and understand the potential that these services partners provide their customers with today. We are encouraged that with Garrett, an industry veteran, we will be able to accelerate our partnership strategy.”

Jones tells Channel Partners that IronNet has always had a partner-centric approach to the market, and “we will take this same spirit to forge deeper relationships with existing partners and expand into new spaces.”

“That being said, our channel strategy will not result in us working with everyone,” he said. “We are going to have a focused channel, and we will go deep with a limited set of partners. We are looking for partners with specific capabilities around detection and response, and [who] embrace the vision of collective defense. We are in the process of building a new program that will ensure we support partners throughout the selling process and the customer lifecycle, allowing them to take full leverage the deep cyber expertise found within IronNet’s technology and people.”

The new program will be coming early next year, Jones said.

Most recently, Jones was vice president of global inside sales and renewals at Forcepoint, where he led a sales theater responsible for global renewals, and the channel-centric midmarket and SMB segments. Before that, he served as the senior vice president of sales for security testing and analyst firm NSS Labs.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in October.

Prior to NSS Labs, Jones spent eight years in various leadership positions at Symantec, including vice president of global channel, where he led the redesign of its channel strategy and launched a new global partner program prior to the Veritas split.

“Garrett’s experience in the cybersecurity space, and in running large sales and partner organizations across the globe, makes him the right person to lead this key function for our organization,” said Sean Foster, IronNet’s chief revenue officer. “I am eager to see and be a part of the innovative ideas he brings to the table to help feed the growth we are starting to see within IronNet and the collective defense approach to cybersecurity.”
