Ingram Micro Makes Splash at ISC West Security Conference

Ingram Micro is looking to make a security splash at the 2012 International Security Conference West, which will be held in Fabulous Las Vegas, Nev. But what is it about security that has Ingram Micro all fired up? All the details you need to know, without the fluff, coming right up …

At the International Security Conference West, Ingram Micro will have its own “Convergence Pavilion,” a 20,000-square-foot showroom designed to unveil Ingram Micro’s wide array of security offerings from popular vendors and partners, in addition to showcasing Ingram Micro’s vertical-focused business units. But the true star of the Pavilion will be none other than Ingram Micro’s Physical Security Business Unit, because Ingram Micro is looking to show security resellers there’s a large amount of cross-pollination between physical security, networking, storage and more. Most physical security solutions require networking of cameras, which in turn require storage for storing recorded video. Ingram Micro intends to make this plainly known.

But Ingram Micro’s massive presence at ISC West also comes at a time when the distribution company sees an uptick in demand for integrated security solutions. Capitalizing on that is key for Ingram Micro, which is why Ingram is encouraging partners to come via a pre-registration portal that offers free passes for current Ingram resellers.

As data centers and cloud computing technologies expand across the globe, the need for physically protecting those assets will be key. For example, just take a look at both D-Link and ZyXEL, both of which have merged their networking know-how with physical camera security solutions. Expect Ingram Micro’s physical security market to be mirrored by other big distributors in this space. Even though Ingram Micro will shine at ISC West, it’s not the only star in the security sky, so be sure to check out more event details here.
