HP Inc. to Debut New Print App Portal

Just ahead of the company’s Global Partner Conference 2016 being held in Boston next week, HP Inc. on Wednesday introduced the HP JetAdvantage On Demand portal, a marketplace for HP and third-party printing and imaging applications.

According to the company, HP JetAdvantage On Demand offers software-as-service (SaaS) apps with integrated services for managing apps, users and devices from HP — as well as non-HP printers.

HP's Edmund Wingate“With HP JetAdvantage On Demand, we bring together top apps from HP and ISVs and leverage the cloud for a simple purchase, deployment and management experience,” said Edmund Wingate, head of JetAdvantage Solutions, HP Inc. “As a result, we are able to enhance security, management and productivity of printing infrastructure and create a better experience for reseller partners and customers,” he said in a prepared statement.

When launched in November, the portal will offer two existing JetAdvantage On Demand applications – JetAdvantage Private Print and Jet Advantage Insights – as well as HP JetAdvantage Secure Print, a new HP application, and Udocx, a cloud-based service from Fenestrae. Initial availability is in the U.S., with additional access to come later.

HP JetAdvantage Secure Print is a SaaS pull printing app supporting cloud and on-premises print-job queues with no print server required. The app works with most printers with a network connection.{ad}

Udocx from Fenestrae is a cloud-based service that captures business documents and allows organizations to automatically process and store documents in Office 365 or any other cloud-based repository.

Expect to see additional SaaS applications from HP and third parties in the marketplace in 2017. HP is working with Hyland, OpenText, PaperCut, Troy and other ISVs to release apps to the marketplace in spring 2017, the vendor said.

JetAdvantage On Demand portal only offers applications that are HP Security-Certified and comply with data privacy best practices for security threat analysis and mitigation, data-privacy standards compliance, and appropriate solution controls.

Additionally, sensitive data in transit and stored in the cloud will be protected through business-grade encryption, and authentication options will be available to protect against unauthorized access to information, according to HP.
