AuthenTec (AUTH), a provider of smart fingerprint sensors and solutions, has announced it has appointed Scott Deutsch as vice president of worldwide sales. Deutsch will oversee AuthenTec’s global sales organization, both direct and indirect, and lead the company’s market expansion and ongoing collaboration with the world’s leading original equipment manufacturers through the sale of AuthenTec smart sensors, software and solutions.

“Scott Deutsch has helped build strong relationships with many of the world’s leading OEMs through many years of sales management and leadership experience,” said AuthenTec President Larry Ciaccia. “Scott’s global sales leadership along with recent additions to our sales and support teams in China and Japan better position AuthenTec to take advantage of new and expanding market opportunities for our smart fingerprint sensors and solutions.”

Deutsch was previously vice president of worldwide sales at Alereon, a provider of Ultra Wideband (UWB) WiMedia solutions, where he was responsible for developing and managing sales relationships with leading PC OEMs and PC accessory providers.
