Cloud security company Zscaler is expanding its partner community to include new SD-WAN and security partners, and is introducing new and enhanced API integrations from current and new partners.

Zscaler has added Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) company, CloudGenix, LANCOM Systems, and 128 Technology to its SD-WAN partner community. In addition to the expansion, Zscaler partners are enhancing their offerings by providing more flexibility for customers, and addressing their networking and security needs. Silver Peak has added new capabilities for connectivity through SD-WAN GRE and IPsec tunnels, providing customers with more deployment choices.

Several security partners have launched API integrations with Zscaler to provide advanced security automation. Phantom, now a part of Splunk, and Anomali are new to the Zscaler security partner program.

Punit Minocha, Zscaler’s senior vice president of business and corporate development, tells Channel Partners that customer demand and the fact that customers have very disparate environments drove the need for the expansion.

Okta, with their system cross-domain identity management (SCIM) implementation, and Silver Peak, offering new capabilities for seamless connectivity, are perfect examples of how we continue to expand our current partnerships with existing partners,” he said.

“Security in today’s increasingly mobile and cloud world means connecting the right user, to the right application, at the right time,” said Ernesto Tey, Okta’s vice president of global strategic alliances. “By working closely with Zscaler, our joint customers can readily mobilize their users to accomplish their missions with seamless collaboration and best-in-breed security.”

Minocha said the additions give Zscaler and its partners a competitive advantage.

“It make(s) the joint solution more valuable to the customer,” he said. “Customers derive more value from the joint solution. (The) joint solution is more sticky for the partner and Zscaler.”

Zscaler’s channel partners have different technology partners they end up working with, for example, on SD-WAN, Minocha said.

“So by expanding our technology partner ecosystem, we are now able to work more closely with additional channel partners,” he said.

“Implementing security policies that deliver a seamless experience for branch users accessing the internet and SaaS applications has historically been a challenge for IT because of the complexity of VLANs and access control in dynamic environments,” said Michael Tennefoss, Aruba’s vice president of strategic partnerships. “Working in collaboration with Zscaler we’ve addressed these issues … (and) we’ve accomplished this with minimal latency.”
