Telecom master agency Telarus Inc. announced Monday the launch of GeoSign, a qualification and customer paperwork generation platform for cable company business coax services.

The new tool enables Telarus subagents to check for coax service availability, configure a custom service package for their client and generate paperwork in real-time.

The original code base for GeoSign got its start in early 2011, when Telarus was selected for the initial rollout of the national Comcast Business Class Solution Provider program. GeoSign currently is compatible with Comcast Business Class and is in beta with Time Warner Cable Business Class.

GeoSign’s cheif architect, Andrew Morgan, vice president of operations for Telarus, said GeoSign is intended to make cable low-cost, high volume coax sales more profitable through automation.

“With the average coax business broadband and/or voice order coming in around $200 [per] month, channel partners just don’t have the time to wait for serviceability to come back or to fill out four pages of paperwork by hand for their customers each and every time,” Morgan said.

In addition to speeding the process, GeoSign also eliminates many of the errors by ensuring forms are filled out correctly, reducing the already high order fallout rate, said Patrick Oborn, Telarus’ vice president of business development.

GeoSign is Telarus’ latest software tool. The master agency received a patent for GeoQuote, its real-time multicarrier quoting system,in 2009. It also launched GeoScan, which partners use to find general carrier availability for any address in the United States, in 2011.

GeoSign, GeoQuote and GeoScan are available online through the Telarus Partner Portal. A virtual tour of GeoSign is available at http://comcast.telarus.com.
