Avaya this week unveiled a new multi-touch customer engagement solution called Avaya Oceana, which is designed to help companies provide their customers with a singular solution to manage all of their customer workflows. The solution allows users to drag and drop workflow capabilities to create individualized “customer journeys,” all of which can be viewed in a single pane of glass.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: Avaya’s latest offering seeks to give its customers a way to cut down on clutter related to monitoring their end user data. The solution might not be incredibly novel in the grand scheme of things, but it will certainly be a welcome new tool for existing Avaya customers.
This week also marked the launch of Scality RING 6.0, the latest version of the company’s popular object storage software solution. Scality said it is the first offering to include S3 compatible object storage with Microsoft Active Directory, Amazon Web Services Identity and Access Management support. Code level compatibility will also allow users to deploy the solution anywhere they want, either on-premise, in the cloud or via a hybrid solution, according to the announcement.

Why It’s Good for the Channel: Veeam and HPE are actively looking to reduce OpEx and CapEx costs for their SMB customers, as well as provide them with a pre-configured and prequalified solution for easy setup. As an added bonus, the solution is only available through Avnet, making it a great option for channel partners to carry once it releases later this year.
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution provider Workspot has also partnered with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, this time for the launch of the HPE Reference Configuration for Workspot VDI on HPE Hyperconverged 380. The solution is supposed to allow users to fully virtualize their clients within 60 minutes and uses cloud native, control plane architecture, according to the announcement.
Why It’s Good for the Channel: HPE and Workspot’s solution promises to make client virtualization easier for non tech wizzes, which will most assuredly be appreciated by companies without the resources or chops to go virtual using more traditional (i.e. complex) means.
