Your friendly neighborhood distribution giant has just put a little more solution in your solutions. Avnet has launched SolutionsPath Advisor, which is designed to help VARs and resellers develop more specialization. Distribution prowess and an education? Tell me more…
If you’re not in the U.S. and Canada, you’re out of luck. But if you happen to be working in either of the lucky two, welcome to the Avnet’s SolutionPath Advisor. Think of it as your personal professor designed to help you develop, consult, benchmark and help you specialize for the specific market your solutions are aimed at. You’ll get business planning roadmaps for each of Avnet’s ‘Paths’; networking, security, storage, and virtualization, plus government and healthcare.
If you decide this is the ‘path’ for you, SolutionsPath Advisor will work closely with Avnet’s team of business development experts, who will utilize “intuitive, online assessment model to accelerate the joint planning process.” The results of that can be rolled into customized business plans that can, like we’ve said, help your business out with long term goals. It’ll also tell you how to accerelate your return on investment if you’re in a new area of practice.
Colin Blair, director of solutions development, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas summarizes it expertly…
“…the planning process for creating a new, specialized practice is complicated, time intensive and often overwhelming. Avnet created SolutionsPath Advisor to help partners through the complex research, evaluation and planning phases that are part of creating any new practice….”
Avnet also glazed over their SolutionsPath Playbooks as a tie in. The Playbooks are online sales toolkits that provide a blueprint of what to sell in key technologies and vertical markets.
If you’re into this, you can watch a short video online here.
Final thought? It’s awfully nice Avnet cares about educating their partners. Will this help partners blossom in new directions? Like I always say, we’ll have to wait and see.
