Avnet Launches Cloud Workshops for VARs & Customers

VARs working with Avnet have yet another reason to stay close to the distribution juggernaut. Avnet Technology Solutions is offering new consultative services along with cloud strategy workshops to help both resellers and customers understand the transition to the cloud. Avnet Technology Solutions is offering a dual-pronged approach to the cloud implementation process, with “cloud strategy workshops and cloud assessment services.” Together, the programs will educate VARs, ISVs and Avnet partners on integrating data center technology deployments with current and future-ready technology for moving to the cloud.

But it’s not all about the VARs. C-level and IT management teams are invited to a one-day cloud workshop with a VAR, while Avnet’s “cloud solution architects” direct the workshop to help flesh out the goals of the customer based on their existing network architecture, vision for there future and current needs.

Simultaneously, Avnet will educate the customer and the VAR on the latest trends and capabilities of cloud computing, creating a environment where both the customer and the VAR are on the same page. Then, VARs can jump into actually deploying the needed solution thanks to Avnet’s “cloud assessments services.” This second process will focus on selling a specific cloud solution and offering more targeted tools to ensure the best return-on-investment for a customer while satisfying all cloud needs. A detailed blueprint of the solution, including all hardware and software implementation processes, will be provided based on Avnet’s Cloud Maturity Model.

Clearly, Avnet is trying to address customers’ wait-and-see cloud attitudes. This one-two punch has the potential to eliminate that uncertainty. Of course, this dual solution program can be combined with Avnet’s existing CloudReady SolutionPath, allowing partners and VARs to specialize in specific cloud deployment strategies and verticals.
