Remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform provider Level Platforms has added Symantec to its list of integrations in the past month, which include integrations from backup, disaster recovery (BDR) and intelligent business continuity (IBC) solutions Datto and cloud backup solutions platform company Axcient. This most recent upgrade brings information from Symantec Backup Exec into the Level Platforms Managed Workplace dashboard. Here’s the scoop.
According to Level Platforms, the Symantec Backup Exec Service Module upgrade offers managed services providers (MSPs) the following new features:
multi-site view, a capability that allows MSPs to monitor backup status across all managed sites from within the centralized Managed Workplace dashboard;
support for multiple backup servers, which allows different types of backups to run on different backup servers with complete visibility on status within the Managed Workplace dashboard;
and support for both Backup Exec 2010 and 2012 products, allowing MSPs to monitor and manage their end-clients regardless of the version deployed.
The module also provides MSPs with the ability to view generated alerts and errors reported by Backup Exec, review the status of jobs executed (running or scheduled), launch back-up specific reports, or start a diagnostics job and remotes access the Backup Exec server from within the Managed Workplace platform.
Level Platforms Marketing Manager Ed Goffin said the company has partnered with Symantec since 2011, working with Symantec’s service modules for Backup Exec and Security End Point (SEP).
“Through our Technology Integration Program we’re working with numerous vendors to integrate their products or services into Managed Workplace, and our recent announcements with Symantec, Datto and Axcient highlight just some of the advancements we’re bringing to our MSP Partners so they can monitor and manage the full range of technologies relied on by their end-clients from within Managed Workplace,” he said. “Specific to this integration with Symantec, the multi-site view is a real advantage for MSPs so they can monitor backup status across all managed sites from within the centralized Managed Workplace dashboard.”
He added that we should see an update for the SEP Service Module later this spring.
The upgraded module is now available to Level Platforms Partners through the Update Center.
Level Platforms recently added a managed print service (MPS) module to it’s Managed Workplace platform, lending credence to the idea of growing MPS partnership momentum.
