Two CEOs, co-CEOs

Everbridge CEO David Meredith has resigned, leaving interim co-CEOs at the helm. Meredith’s resignation is effective Jan. 30, 2022.

Everbridge, a provider of critical event management and national public warning software solutions, will immediately establish an office of the CEO. The office will be shared by long-tenured company executives Patrick Brickley, executive vice president and CFO, and Vernon Irvin, executive vice president and CRO. Brickley and Irvin will partner as interim co-CEOs to assume strategic and operational control of the business. The company has initiated a search for a permanent CEO and will consider both internal and external candidates.

“The board of directors and I are confident that Vernon Irvin and Patrick Brickley can lead the company forward as co-CEOs together and deliver on the company’s mission of ‘keeping people safe and organizations running faster’,” said Jaime Ellertson, chairman of Everbridge’s board of directors. “We are fortunate to have two incredibly respected and seasoned executives taking on this partnership. Both Patrick and Vernon are strong leaders with deep hands-on operating knowledge and a commitment to the continued success of Everbridge in the future.”

Outgoing Leadership

Everbridge’s David Meredith

Meredith served more than two years as CEO of Everbridge. During his tenure, he helped Everbridge develop and launch a global executive leadership summit series. It engaged 40,000 senior executives, government and health officials from 150 countries. Prior to Everbridge, Meredith spent 25 years in senior executive leadership and board director roles. He worked in multibillion-dollar public companies as well as private-equity-backed technology-focused firms, according to Everbridge. His previous employers include Rackspace, CenturyLink (now Lumen Technologies), VeriSign, CGI and Capital One Financial Corp.

New, Internal Leadership

Everbridge’s Vernon Irvin

Irvin brings over 30 years of enterprise and SaaS sales leadership experience across direct and channel organizations serving both public and private sectors at multibillion-dollar scale. He has led enterprise sales organizations covering 60 countries, leveraging indirect channels, partners and alliances to grow deals and book orders at Everbridge, according to the company. Prior to joining the firm, Irvin served as executive vice president and president at CenturyLink and held executive roles at Charter Communications and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

Everbridge’s Patrick Brickley

Brickley joined Everbridge in 2015 as vice president of finance and later served as vice president of finance and accounting. He has over 20 years of experience in those fields and was instrumental throughout Everbridge’s IPO in September 2016. Moreover, he has been actively involved in the execution of the company’s capital transactions, M&A activity, and investor relations program. Prior to joining Everbridge, Brickley served as finance manager at Google.
