Green Cloud Technologies’ Jonathan Philipsen

It’s Jonathan Philipsen, who takes the step up the ladder from his position as VP of sales. His new role puts him in charge of managing Green Cloud’s channel-partner program, which includes nearly 600 managed service providers (MSPs) and value-added resellers (VARs) who help their customers migrate to Green Cloud’s turnkey, cloud-based infrastructure services.

More specifically, Philipsen is tasked with recruiting, on-boarding, training and management of both outside and inside sales teams.

“Green Cloud offers our partners an uncommon level of support through a culture of innovation, teamwork and collaboration, and Jonathan has directly contributed to our fast-paced growth and success,” said Charles Houser, co-founder and executive vice president of sales and marketing for Green Cloud. “Jonathan is a tremendous leader and deeply respected by his team.”

Gartner earlier this year forecast the worldwide public-cloud services market to grow 21 percent in 2018, to more than $186 billion, with the fastest-growing segment being IaaS. Gartner sees a 36 percent jump for infrastructure as a service before the year is out.

Before coming to Green Cloud in 2013, Philipsen spent a year-and-a-half as director of business development at EDTS, a provider of managed IT and support services, but the bulk of his career was 13 years as a a district sales director for Windstream Communications.

Green Cloud’s nationwide data centers give channel partners virtual servers, backup and disaster-recovery solutions – built on platforms such as Cisco and VMware – to offer their customers.

The company last month added Avant to its portfolio of master agents and distributors.
