Seattle-based ExtraHop, which provides real-time wire data analytics, has two new tech veterans on its leadership team.

The first is John Leon, who takes on the role of VP of business development. He’s best known for his work at Puppet Labs, VMware and Intel, where he held a range of positions as an alliance manager.

The other newby is Paul Sanford, whose background is in products and engineering with Microsoft and Splunk. He’ll lead the product management team at ExtraHop as a senior director.{ad}

Look for ExtraHop to tap the combined 34 years in IT leadership that Leon and Sanford bring to the company in order to further build its presence in IT operations analytics (ITOA), a category projected to grow at a CAGR or nearly 24 percent through 2020.

Wire data comprises L2-L7 data spanning the application delivery chain. ExtraHop says unstructured data is reassembled into structured wire data that can be analyzed in real time and mined for insights to strengthen an ITOA strategy.
