Citel Technologies has appointed Clyde Heintzelman as chairman of the board and has named Michael Burke senior vice president of sales and marketing, a new position at the company.

Heintzelman replaces Jonathan Watts, who is stepping down. Heintzelman has more than 35 years of board and management experience in the telecommunications industry. He previously held positions with Optelecom, Bell Atlantic, SAVVIS and DIGEX.

As senior vice president of sales and marketing, Burke is responsible for developing Citels global sales and marketing efforts, as well as strategic partnerships. He has more than 20 years experience in developing new direct and indirect international sales organizations globally for telecom products and services. He previously held executive sales management positions at Equant Network Services Inc., Rolm, China Telecom, Bell Canada/Teleglobe and Sprint International Corp.
