When Everbridge last week revealed that CEO David Meredith unexpectedly resigned, the company’s shares plunged. With no stated reason, Everbridge insisted that Meredith’s resignation wasn’t related to its financial results or an internal controls issue.

Boomi’s David Meredith

The reason became more apparent Monday when leading application integration software provider Boomi revealed Meredith will become its new CEO. Meredith will replace Chris McNabb, who served as Boomi’s CEO for nearly a decade. McNabb is retiring according to the Boomi announcement.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in November.

“I am confident David is the executive best suited to guide Boomi through this next chapter and I look forward to working closely together with him to ensure a smooth transition,” according to a statement by McNabb.

Transition for Boomi

But the timing of the changing of the guard at Boomi is noteworthy. The move comes months after Dell Technologies sold Boomi to private equity firms Francisco Partners and TPG for $4 billion. And it comes just a month after the company held its annual user conference, dubbed Out of This World 2021.

At that event, held virtually this year, McNabb led the introduction of its new “vision for hyper-automation.” The company launched its embedded event driven architecture, Boomi Event Streams, and its new Boomi Discover library of solutions.

Boomi also introduced AtomSphere Go, a platform that lets developers purchase its various Integration, Flow, API Management, Master Data Hub and B2B/EDI Management tools. And Boomi introduced Project LightSpeed, designed to simply the development of data synchronization services.

Pushing for Growth

Recruiting David Meredith from Everbridge signals that Boomi’s new owners want to see faster growth. The company posted double-digit growth during his two-and-a-half years at Everbridge, the provider of SaaS-based critical event management and national public warning software solutions.

Before joining Everbridge, Meredith had served as COO of Rackspace and president of CenturyLink.

“David’s track record scaling category-leading software-as-a-service and infrastructure providers and his thought leadership within the industry make him the perfect choice to lead Boomi through its next phase of growth,” according to a statement by Francisco Partners’ Brian Decker and Andrew Kowal.

Boomi CEO Chris McNabb will leave the company at the end of next month. Likewise, Everbridge said Meredith will depart at the same time.
