Avant Communications has hired an experienced UCaaS and mobility professional to lead cloud engineering in its western region.

Brent Wilford has joined the master agent as director of cloud engineering. Avant president Drew Lydecker said Wilford will “push our vendor ecosystem to new heights.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Brent to the Avant family and to begin using his expertise to grow Avant’s influence across the country,” Lydecker said.

Wilford worked in sales engineering at Sprint from 2006-2013 before joining T-Mobile, where he provided similar services in southern California. He most recently worked for UCaaS provider Fuze as senior channel sales engineer for North America. His new employer said that Wilford’s unified communications as-a-service and contact center-as-a-service (CCaaS) expertise will improve agents’ sales of next-generation technologies.

The Chicago-based master agent said it has been growing its internal team. Nice InContact alumna Jaime Matoba recently joined the company as senior director of business development.

The company last month announced a supplier partnership with cybersecurity provider Cybraics. Avant broke ground on its Dallas office late last year.
